YEARS 11 & 12 WORK EXPOSURE:
On Thursday 13 March 2025, our Years 11 and 12 students had the opportunity to gain hands-on work exposure at Evenfall Winery and Restaurant. This experience provided valuable insight into various aspects of the business, including grape picking, juice processing, the commercial kitchen and the marketing and promotion. We quickly realised that running a large business like Evenfall involves a diverse range of roles and job opportunities.
Byron shared, “It was a great experience learning about the grape picking industry. I’m now planning to go out on work experience picking grapes in the next few weeks.”
Imogen was particularly impressed by the high level of customer service and the way storytelling plays a crucial role in the winery’s marketing. “It was fascinating to hear how the history of the business is woven into its brand and customer experience,” she said.
For Sam, the highlight was seeing the large-scale equipment in action. “I was blown away by the heavy machinery used to transport and process the produce, as well as to manage the grounds.”
The only disappointment? No wine tasting!
A huge thank you to Natalie, Leeroy and Justine from Evenfall for making us feel so welcome and generously sharing their time, knowledge and expertise. This was an unforgettable learning experience for all of us!
