Celebrations

Congratulations to our Junior House Captains who were recognised in our recent whole school assembly. Our captains have received Student Leader badges which they are wearing with pride as part of their school uniform. Congratulations also goes to all our sporting superstars who were recognised for their outstanding efforts in swimming and cross country carnivals.

Grade Focus

Our grade focus continues to be respectful communications. As part of this the Grade 8 team would like parents/guardians to discuss with their child the importance of communication and what topics are/are not appropriate to discuss within a school setting.

The following reminders were also discussed in this week's Grade assembly:

Lockers - Must be locked at all times.

Food/eating - Please wait until you are outside B Block before you start eating.

Breakfast Club - Food and drinks need to be consumed before entering B Block.

Loitering in Corridor - After you have accessed your locker head straight to class.

After school - Move directly to the location where your bus picks you up from (not on equipment, in the atrium etc). Also students who are walking or who catch a bus outside of the school gates need to leave the site.

Mobiles Phones - 'Off and Away' policy takes action as soon as you enter the school grounds.

Out of Class and Organisation - Make sure to have all necessary equipment for lessons. Go to the toilet in break times. Please ensure you are taking your Block 1 & 2 books and Block 3 & 4 books with you when getting organised for class.

My Education Day

GR71.png

On Friday 11th June, students will be completing their second My Education Day of Term 2. Following on from our “stereotypes” theme, students were engaged in important debating topics around stereotypes. Below were the learning intentions for the day:

Know: How opinions are formed based upon our experiences and values, transferrable skills are those we utilise every day and need them to be positive members of our community and contribute to society.

Understand: Transferrable skills are skills that allow us to be successful in a variety of contexts, we need these skills for work and life.

Do: Collaborate to present a debate topic to the class, reflect on their experiences (what challenges opinions?), develop collaboration, negotiation, resilience and public speaking skills, express/communicate opinions in respectful and non-judgemental ways.
