On 31^st August, 10 of our Packages of Learning students and Grade 10 students attended the GriPP Beacon Foundation excursion based at UTAS Stadium. The day was a valuable experience for our students, as they gained further insight to the construction industry pathway.

The day began with an introduction and a walking tour through some worksites and seeing firsthand how extensive some of the projects are.

After the tour, we got to meet a few of the Fairbrother employees, who were fantastic in giving us their insight on how the got to the position they are in today.

Towards the end of the day the students went through job applications for an apprenticeship position at Fairbrother. Having the Apprentice Program Manager at Fairbrother in Matthew Scrimgeour helping us throughout the day, was particularly valuable considering there is applications open now!
