GRADE 8 REPORT:
Celebrations
It has made for pleasant reading going through the Grade 8 reports over the last couple of weeks. Significant improvement has been made in academic achievement, student engagement and following the school ROCKS values over the course of the year. This is best represented by the high standards required to achieve recognition in our end of year academic awards.
Students had an excellent time at the Big Day Out and it was lovely to see so many positive interactions across a wide variety of social groups amongst the grade. Thank you to Mr Heger and the House Prefects for organising such a wonderful afternoon. It isn’t often we get to shut the school down just to engage in having some fun – something we perhaps need to do more of to help engage our students.
The Grade 8s also had opportunity to engage with the “Healthy Me, Healthy You” expo on our last My Education day. The students were able to interact with a wide variety of strategies to assist their own mental health – thank you to Mrs Selby and the Peer Support Leaders for organising the event.

A message from Mr Elliott:
At time of writing, it looks as if this will be my last Grade Report for the newsletter as my time has come to a conclusion here at Kings Meadows High School. It would be remiss of me to not take this opportunity to thank the students for engaging so positively with me from my first day at school and the parents for trusting me with the care of their children whilst trusting me to make the best possible decision to support their child’s learning. A thanks also goes to the staff who have assisted me when required and shown me the Kings Meadows way of doing things. Particular thanks to Mr Hartley and Mrs Wightman who I have worked so closely with in helping manage the Grade 8 cohort on a daily basis. Finally to Mrs Pinnington, thank you for having the confidence to bring me to KMHS and the support you have shown my family and myself over the last 12 months.
Up the Meadows!!!
